There are times when writers' ignorance of basic general knowlege and their abandonment of simple common sense leads them to write such wildly innacurate, outlandish things that your suspension of disbelief is shattered. That's what happens with this show. (Spoiler alert.)
Though I found the plot to be engaging and the acting outstanding, actions within the story were unbelievable to the point of absurdity. There are instances of animal behavior, which are pivitol plot points, that are absolutely contrary to what anyone with a basic, general knowlege about African and American wildlike knows to be true. Additionally the actions of numerous characters regarding acts of murder were simply and literally unbelievable.
Also the Cowboys were utterly steryotypical movie types, rather than anything resembling actual documented ranch workers of those times.
I think that Writer Taylor Sheridan is far too impressed with himself. Academy award winner or not, he needs to remember that he is held to the same standards of accuracy and reality as other writers. He pushes our suspension of belief so far that it snaps.
