A true jewel box, devoid of anything inside. Wes Anderson has become a boutique artist with a following and is now allowed by the industry to produce whatever art piece he now chooses. How underutilized was Tilda Swinton in Asteroid City? He uses her as a quirky face, and why she accepted this most recent role is beyond me. The movie is gorgeous. How this will fare at the box office is another matter. I LOVED parts of the movie. But it was incoherent (the gay scene?) and Wes doesn't seem to care whether his audience is following him, which is a bit of an arrogant approach to filmmaking.
