I am so amazed that I did not see this movie all this while. How amazing a movie can be? None of the characters are ordinary, none of these are ever seen before, talking simple dialogues, but the right pauses, the eyes of the actors have so much to say.
Bill Parrish, a man with few words, has so much courage and character; and is revered accordingly by his family and colleagues. When death tells him, it is standing a few days apart, his first reaction is not panic, he just accepts and gives the man honor needed in that hour; that itself says so much about his character, also later as an employer and a family head. He does not impose on anyone around him, what he thinks, but is always candid enough to share what his honest and open minded opinion, just as he would have it for himself. Not what suits him and benefits him. That is selflessness and real wisdom...
Susan is deeply instinctive, the way she reads people's emotions and body language, is so unique. Her body language is so beyond words and that was a major part of her character, she could sense the truth and never pushed anyone to put it in words for her, but she knew and accepted it. Brad Pitt is, as we know him, a great actor, and the two characters he plays - the candid boy and death man, were poles apart.
However, much more than that, the twist in the love story is so unique and so heart touching. Overall this is 10 on 10.
