A clip on YouTube urged me to rewatch this again after sooo many years, on my last night of holiday too. Completely lifted my spirits and the sentiment of the avalanche scene ~ how we can be so close to what we want but can’t see ahead to know it’s there. Right around the corner waiting for us I remember being 8/9 at my Auntie’s house and choosing this dvd back in 2007, even at that age it brought me to tears! This time just pure joy. Watching now it’s vividly reminiscent, simply a beautiful film. Everybody played their parts well, Queen Latifah stunning as always is styled to perfection from her dreary unflattering outfits into this woman of luxury. LL Cool J will convince you he genuinely loves her in real life💕 Plus the valet room lady and Latifah’s bond with the Chef, great characters and amazingly witty screenwriting. The Hills Have Eyes meets Wrong Turn & House Of Wax, some of my favourite childhood horror classics. Not an original storyline but very well presented with a modern take and great cinematography. Enjoyed all the cuts and flashback scenes that weren’t messy or overwhelming, and brought the film together cohesively. The officers scene was lack-lustre however and could’ve been left out. Overall 8/10 • would recommend for the Suspense / Thrill Factor
