This movie is just uninspiring. It's bad for a lot of reasons that are summarized well by other 1 star reviews. The writing - Lazy. Filled out with cringe line deliveries that felt intentional but not in a way the audience could ascribe intent as a genuine comedic effort. It's like the movie was making fun of itself and those unfortunate enough to witness it are neither laughing with you or at you. The gore - Probably the saving grace that gives the review 1 more star than it deserves The plot - Feels rudderless. Lacks direction and character development. A slasher flick centered around a holiday was aced by Halloween so did we really need another one? Yes. But not at this cost. Overall this was worse than I was anticipating. If you're in the mood for something genuine that provides comedic reprieve in lock step with suspenseful moments, just rewatch Cabin in the Woods or Scream. Be kind to yourself. You'll never get these 90 minutes back.
