I wanted to like this movie, I really did. It had a stellar cast, great concept and seemed cool based on the hype beforehand. But I was sorely disappointed. It wasn’t that funny, was slow at times, and overall wasn’t well done. Acting was great, so was the camera work but the writing was not. I still would recommend it for anyone who wants a satire on the current state of affairs, it perfectly incapsulates the hell hole that is the American corporate political system. What does make the movie good is how realistic it is, it’s almost painful. Overall I gave it three stars because while message, plot and acting is well done, it’s not funny and feels strange. SMALL SPOILER EXAMPLE: Just for example, we had no strong emotional connection with Dr. Mindy’s relationship with his wife yet their reunion was intercut with the most important scene of the film. Maybe this would make more sense if she was a consistent presence but we barley saw her.
