While I haven't yet read this book, I am currently staying at the Author's Airbnb and have heard some of this story firsthand. Jamal and his wife have been through so much in their lives, but even so they're the most friendly, caring people. Hard working with a beautiful home and gardens mixed with both flowers and vegetables. They are extremely gracious hosts who go above and beyond. I have read the first little bit and have read enough in my life to recognize that it is well written. Considering their first language is Arabic, that he writes so well in English is a testimony to Jamal's intelligence. That they are so kind hearted after having gone through what they have, just for being free thinking individuals is just incredible. Jamal is also an artist. I'll try and get him to commission his work. Please support this man and his family. He deserves it.
