As a fan of Roman history dramas, I was honestly looking forward to watching this series and fully intended to see it through to the end. However, I found it difficult to overlook some of the issues with the acting and lines, which might have been the fault of the editing team. For instance, the character who fights as a gladiator often looked too slick and clean, lacking the grit expected in such a brutal setting.
One of the most jarring issues was the editing of the fight scenes. A notable example is the fight between Tenax and his old friend. Tenax is shown getting beaten up without any blood, only for the scene to abruptly cut to him on the ground with his face bleeding profusely, as if the injuries appeared out of nowhere.
The ending was particularly cringeworthy when the boy jumps into the arena to grab his girl and say thank you. It felt off, as it suggests that the guards just let people jump into the arena and walk away, which seems unrealistic.
