I am deeply in love with this classic right from 1972! I saw this film in the Dasara film festival in Mysore. Now I have a copy of it. In a week or so I am showing this film for a group of undergraduates as a part of film appreciation course.

A very pale version of a classic called Faustus! But doesn't even have the intention to become a metaphor. Horror yes. The minus point is you can predict the ending.

The focus should not be on robbery case and the department of police. It's the guilt of the officer, " crime " and the whole procedure involving the human beings, which is the " punishment"! And the never ending punishment meted out to them as in the myth of Sisyphus ! The slow, grinding pace suits the theme. Well made film.
