Funny, frightening, and heartfelt all at once. I feel like I got a real peek into what life was like for one of mixed race, and those of other groups in South Africa during that time period. So different in political ways than the U.S., but then not so different in many other ways, especially in basic human relationships and personal growing up experiences. His relationship with his mother is really amazing. I highly recommend reading this book. I commend Noah for writing it!

This book has been my go-to book about the Lake Tahoe area for years now. I am looking forward to a possible new edition, that includes the newest taxonomic updates, as well as more cross-referencing.
