This movie is an insult to fans of the games.
The director claims to have played the games and claimed that he would change things up to fit his vision. I didn't realize that listening to an incorrect lore video in the background while you're on some mind altering substance counted as playing a game.
Calling the changes they made to the lore paper-thin would be an insult to writers.
It looked as if the director wanted to make a C-Tier Original Film about aliens and lied his way into this project and was forced to inject Borderlands characters and locations into the film or else he'd lose his funding.
Seriously, if you took out the Borderlands name then I guarantee that this film would have somehow got an even worse rating.
The only 3 good things were Claptrap, who I will acknowledge is hit or miss depending on if the jokes land. Florian Munteanu, who played Kreig, who actually played the games and it shows in their actions. And Benjamin Byron Davis, who played Markus, he was the best part of the movie perfectly in character and the right amount of sleazy salesman, it's a shame he's only in two scenes.
I'd give this movie a 1/10, but 1/5 is the lowest I can give.
