Even after watching it a second time, this movie still gets me in the feels. While Jase is a complete mess of narcissism, his confusion and pain of having to navigate his sexuality with the external pressure of success is palpable and borderline understandable. But of course, Ade is the one who offers that peace Jase seeks and still pushes away. The dynamic is slightly toxic, yet still relatable for those who have been through something similar and come out of it having learned the lesson that it's more than okay to love who you love with no apologies. Did Jase ever learn the lesson? With the ending really showcasing the beginning, all we can do is hope so.
