I read both sections of these reviews, the good and the bad because I wanted to see if any viewers had any lived experiences with being in an abusive home. I loved Alex's character, I dont think she made ANY stupid choices because we do what we can with what we have in that moment. Our system is broken and ALOT of people fleeing abuse experience what she did. I really appreciated how they showed "good days" in an abusive relationship, that's real. I love how they showed the chaos that comes from living in poverty, because getting out of your car on the highway is exactly that, chaotic, but so is her life. I love the DV shelter, the alcoholic husband, and I like how they showed his progression of his relapse and recovery. I give this show 5 stars because of its acting, scripture and storytelling. I felt like could relate to all of it. At multiple times, and I felt like I knew each actor.
