Ok,typically not a genre I'd watch. But hey, no one can say it isn't unique. Has anyone checked that geologists credentials? Mostly, he seems to be " talking out the side of his neck" . Gallium, may have been "discovered" ( IE: someone named it and began using it for something specific although it was a by product for who knows how long prior to that date.) It seems as though, a metal that melts in your hand that needs to be kept cool to solidify, would be considered , for lack of a better term, magic, at that point in time. Spain is marching on the Aztecs, stealing anything of value, destroying anything the church saw as a tool of Satan, Gallium would probably try to hide it as stead fastly as the gold they believed were gifts from the Sun God In a time where refrigeration does not exist hiding it within rocks, that remain cool at their core, does not seem too far fetched. For a show that uses so many,...experts..they seem to be overlooking the most logical explanation on that topic.
The show itself, is at least interesting because it seems so far fetched it makes you want to watch it just to see how long before they either admit they faked the whole thing, an alien jumps out from behind a rock spewing clicks and beeps that later translate to get the hell off my ranch and leave my smelting metal alone ,or they finally give up and turn the whole thing into a dirt bike track. Any way it ends up going, at least it's something different in a time where most t v shows are just re works of shows that have already been reworked half dozen times. If you can handle the frustration of wanting to yell at them to "do this" or " don't do that" , it's an ok show. Or hey so is oak island ..hmm.. maybe I'm wrong about that reworking comment...
