The girls probably would have made it if not for their fate of being friends with the two most annoying young men in NYC. There's just not enough actual scares and foreboding here to excuse having to watch this jerky 'found footage' run through Manhattan.

Mildly amusing but mostly forced and dependent on the usual shtick of Will Farrell and Awkwafina, which can't carry a whole movie in this case. And the strange miscasting of Sandra Oh is painful to watch.

Boring until halfway through, at which point the usual bad tropes and lack of research start up. If you're a sci-fi fan skip this silly movie.

Once you figure out what's really going on, the feeling of dread and suspense stops, and you're left with mostly sadness for the plight of the kids. Without spoiling it too much, think of every paranormal investigation from the other side of it.
