I really wanted to like Wayward, but it ended up being a confusing mess. There were so many plot points that made no sense — like the frogs, which were never properly explained, and strange lines such as “you are seeing your mother’s back….” that just left me lost. Even the character development was unclear. For example, Alex’s gender and the reason behind making him a man felt forced and inconsistent. Nothing seemed to connect in a meaningful way. If you’re looking for a show with strong storytelling and real psychological depth, skip Wayward and watch The Sinner instead. It handles mystery and emotion much better
