Absolutely LOVED this film. I will say, it's probably not for most though. I watched almost all of Alfred Hitchcock's films for analysis (years ago) and so it was very fun to see how effects were integrated into the movie and how to compare that to how Hitchcock used them for his own films. Loved the addition of the "Friends" film (it meant much more than "just a show" in this film!). I personally loved the ending. It shows exactly how the current climate of our country is: when wars are going on, tune it out with media... Or social media in our case.
All of the copy/ pasted comments aren't understanding the symbolism. My counter to the various people who copy and pasted: The daughters represent the social culture of the U.S. During historical riots and upheavals, there are definitely people left to fend for themselves. The characters didn't need to develop. It wasn't a movie that needed character development; that would've made it too dense for no reason.
The analog comment: I'm pretty sure the planes and boats are alluding to the Tesla incident later in the film- being so reliant on digital can cause us to lose all control.
The ambiguity of the countries attacking: true to what politicians are always boasting- that we have so many enemies as a country.
