The movie was good and heartfelt, but people talking about its realism are missing the point. If what was shown actually happened, everyone nearby wouldโve already been dead. The movie seriously downplays the danger of the "nuclear" power plant accident.
Firefighters just standing around, people casually walking in and out of the plant, and surviving because of "painkillers"? Really? Helicopters flying directly over an exposed core wouldnโt last a second; they would crash instantly.
Theyโre cooling an exposed reactor with fire trucks, despite a massive crack in the structure? And they yell "meltdown" only to forget about it a scene later once water starts spraying and connected to the internal cooling system, while cracks in the pipe were the major issue which started everything!!
In reality, radiation wouldโve hit lethal levels in seconds, and no village that close would have survivors. People exposed like that being fine till the end just didnโt sit right with me.
