For a first episode I enjoyed it. There were lots of good throw backs to the books and games which have been part of my life since the games first release in 2001. How the Elites moved and the sheer barbaric nature the covenant brings was portrayed well. I’m a little on the fence with the back story for the Spartans, they’ve always maintained their memories, not sure how to feel about the new memory wipe idea…. Brilliant fight sequence for the first episode, It left me wanting more, but, understandably, in the games, that’s all you do bar the odd cutscene! Wanting more, and wanting to watch the next episode is good when it comes to a weekly episodic show and I think it’s too early to write it off completely as a lot of people seem to be doing. My advice to anyone who hasn’t watched it, go in with an open mind and see it as an extension to this already massive universe. Alternate timelines have worked well for lots of different books, movies, shows and games, so here’s hoping this works too! But overall, very good and worth a watch!
