Entertaining enough. I did not read the book and while I watched all of the series, I watched the last 2 episodes on fast forward, stopping for a minute only when I spotted a new circumstance, and didn't miss any of the plot. I found the flashback costuming and CGI Photoshop distracting and clumsy, Sarah Chalke is the same bumbling, insecure character she plays on Scrubs and genuinely cringey to watch fawn over Johnny during her early career, I actually really enjoyed Katherin Heigl in this and both Alyssa Skovbye and Roan Curtis (the characters as children) were great. If you're a fan of nighttime dramas like Grey's or Parenthood or This is Us, you'll like this. I found it cloying, drawn-out, and ham-handed.
