There were so many things to like about this movie: the acting performances were strong (especially Rain and Andy), the reintroduction of Ian Holm as Rook, the tension as they moved slowly thru the facehugger room, the whole good/bad Andy, the whole splitting off of the crew and the panic around the time left and even the chest burster scene was fresh. I loved this move right up until the last 20 minutes. It started with the unnecessary repetition of the famous line from Aliens which was a big eye roll and takes you out of the film which sucks. But the worst part of this movie was the creation of the human/hybrid alien. This felt like I was watching Alien Resurrection all over again. It was just put there so once again we could have a depressurization scene. I get that it’s an Alien movie but not every Alien movie needs to have that exact same moment. Again it took me out of the experience and just made me annoyed. First hour and a half: 5 stars, Last 20 minutes 2 starts
