I genuinely enjoyed Night Country. Having watched all three previous True Detective seasons I can easily say season 4 outranks seasons 2 and 3 in terms of story quality. The performances in this season were outstanding. The characters of Dancers, Navarro and Prior were compelling. Constantly comparing season 4 to season 1 accomplishes nothing. Let each stand on its own merits. Season 1 was outstanding but it was not perfect. Season 4 is not perfect but was a great show. For those review bombers that spew nothing but disgust, go watch something else you find more appealing.
