This movie will always be a cult classic with my dad. The French VoiceOver highlights how the movie doesn't take itself too seriously, which is refreshing when you compare it to all the MCU movies who exaggerate every ounce of conflict.
The actors are all amazing. The movie has really good special effects for its time and doesn't overuse them. There is a genuine feeling of authenticity when it comes to the entire production of this film.
However, spoiler warning, I don't quite understand what happens to Captain Seas at the end. They said they brought him to "rehab" and that all of a sudden made him good and made him sing Christmas carols in the streets.
But here's what I'm wondering: someone so purely evil would never make an enormous change like that so suddenly, so there probably was something more than meets the eye in this rehab center. So, did he get lobotomized? if so, that's hilarious as hell.
I would put more than five stars but can't :(
