Spoilers ahead
The overall story feels like they did a Mad Libs with the plot of Homeward Bound and left me significantly wanting. All the character models are gummy in comparison with the gorgeous, realistic scenery around them. They never show how dinosaurs can build houses or grain silo. Arlo's family fills a single silo that's smaller than themselves with fresh whole ears of corn and expect it to last the whole winter without rotting. their entire farm as far as I can tell is the size of a backyard garden in comparison to them, yet somehow becomes an excessive amount of work for the family when the father is lost.
There is an inherent class system between the sapient dinosaurs and all other creatures who are at best sentient and emotive, yet the velociraptors show preference towards attacking and eating the main character while surrounded by unmoving, unaware cattle. The cave baby is left with a family it clearly has no relation to whatsoever, which would be fine if there was any recognition of that in the meta.
There is a part where a pterosaur cult violently eats and then rips apart (in that order) a small mammal the main character helped them save moments before. It was straight out of Jurassic Park, I'm giving an extra star for that scene for sure.
