I grew up watching all the High School Musical movies. Now that I've graduated from high school, senior year feels more personal and surreal than ever. What used to be just a fun Disney movie now feels like a reflection of my own life. For many Gen Z'ers (born in 2007), High School Musical wasn't just a movie about high school students; it was pure nostalgia. It defined an entire generation of Disney Channel magic that kids from this generation will never experience. I remember dreaming about walking the halls of East High. I believe that the first movie taught us to be our true selves, and it also teaches us to embrace changes, follow our hearts, and cherish the memories that has shaped us. The ending was ecstatic. It was full joy, energy, and emotions as everyone graduates and sings together one last-time. I recently watched this movie and loved it. It completely swept me away. It is a heartfelt film to indulge in if you crave a movie that is beautifully animated and has a touch of warmth. I love how the movie is set in 1963, in Yokohama, Japan, where it captures a sense of nostalgia. The attention to every detail, from the bustling harbour to the quiet moments at home, made the movie feel immersive and alluring. The relationship between Umi and Shun is especially touching, and I loved how the fact that the movie is set in post-war Japan and how the film balanced both personal emotions and a broader look at Japan's post-war generation trying to move forward. It's one of those films that will linger with you long after finishing the movie. It's simple, sincere, reflective, and overall deeply moving. I just finished watching this movie. After watching this movie, Lady and the Tramp continues to enchant audiences with a blend of warmth and artistry. I love how the film covers the themes of class, love, and the sense of belonging through the romance between a high-class cocker spaniel and a street-smart schnauzer and terrier. The fact that Lady, Tramp, and the other characters, plus the expressive character work, are phenomenal for this classic film. I first watched this movie when I was in my junior year of high school, and now that I am in my senior year of high school I decided to watch it again. Anne Hathaway does such a great job playing Mia, and her transformation from a regular awkward teenager to actual royalty is fun to watch and surprisingly relatable. Julie Andrews as the queen adds this really classy but kind vibe that balances out the whole story. This time around, I noticed more of the deeper stuff like how it’s really about figuring out who you are and finding the confidence to be that person. It’s still super funny and light, but it also hits harder now that I’m older. Overall, it’s a feel good movie that never gets old, and I’d easily give it five stars. 06/17/2025

Pixar has once again created a film that’s not only entertaining but meaningful.
