I watched this shortly after hiking a tiny portion of the Appalachian Trail, and had I watched it BEFORE, I would have never gone. To those saying it’s slow at the beginning—no. It’s building the characters so that we actually care what happens. To those saying the attack scene was chaotic and disorienting…..yes!!!! I believe that’s intentional. I tend to believe a bear attack would be both chaotic AND disorienting. The cinematography was brilliant during that scene, as was their choice to have the audio cut in and out. Jenn was in shock.
I also really liked the end, when we got to see that Brad was indeed telling the truth as he ran over to help her. He was weird, yes. But ultimately maybe just awkward, because he certainly seemed genuine enough in the final scene.
My only complaint is I’d love a longer ending. It cut off way too abruptly.
