I NEVER WRITE MOVIE REVIEWS BUT…This movie is the most culturally appropriate and respectful thing I’ve ever seen come from outside of our community. There were definitely people in rooms whose voices were being heard. Also, the adolescent black love story is is such an extremely rare category of film it practically doesn’t exist in the black community and it’s something we absolutely need more of. The platonic hetero friendship is good to see. Not to mention if you take away the “Cinderella” aspect and just look at this as regular movie… this is just a very good movie. The story, the script/writing, cinematography, pacing, acting, music, dancing, and directing are all solid and well executed. That Nas “I am” vinyl nod🤌🏾. And this is such a W for young black male representation!! *sigh*… There’s so much about this that’s a gem and I could go on but I won’t. Great Job Disney!
