Since purchasing Helldivers 2—a game I bought at the insistence of a good friend—I’ve logged 225 hours of gameplay. I was playing it daily and enjoying the challenging co-op experience. But yesterday, for the first time, I didn’t log in. The recent "Freedom’s Flame" update brought changes I strongly disliked. While I initially believed that Arrowhead would respond better and faster to the player community, it’s become clear that’s not the case.
When your voice isn’t heard, and your community feels passively insulted by the studio’s leadership, sometimes the only choice is to vote with your feet and walk away. The game I once played daily now feels like a shadow of its former self, and it’s disappointing to see how player feedback has been handled.
I can’t recommend Helldivers 2 in its current state, and it’s a shame to see such potential squandered. I hope the developers will reconsider their approach, but until then, I’m stepping away. Is this load enough for you, Shams?!
