First and foremost, I sympathize for those who were affected by this cult. I also can tell the producers of this doc had their heart in the right place while making this series. I’m assuming their goal was to spread awareness about the cult which im sure they’ve successfully done. As far as the documentary, as a casual viewer looking to watch something entertaining , this is not a must see. 3 episodes certainly could’ve been condensed into 2 episodes. Although im glad no one was hurt or worse, I felt myself waiting for something huge to happen and it just doesn’t. Like I mentioned if you’re simply looking for an entertaining movie night, this isn’t what you’re looking for. If you’re anything like me, you’re not going to relate to anyone on the series. It’s seems everyone was very confused on who they truly were and allowed themself to told who to be. If have a strong foundation in Christ and know who he created you be, no one else can change that

All due respect to the Beam family and other families going through similar situations, But this movie was poorly executed. If you’re a christian hoping to watch a nice faith based movie, skip this one. Nothing worse than a movie that claims to be christian yet doesn’t include one bible verse, one real prayer, or even the name of Jesus. Hello? This movie is great example of how lukewarm many Christian’s are. The movie has good acting and nice cinematography undoubtedly but these aren’t enough they absolutely flopped when it came to the execution of this story line. We are watching this poor girl suffer for 80% of the movie and her salvation is breezed over in the last 15 minutes of the movie. When she is healed the mother cries thanking the front desk receptionist but doesn’t thank Jesus!? Terrible. So many other red flags in this movie , like the youngest daughter idolizing Taylor swift , a painting next to the hospital bed of a girl covering one eye. To my christian brothers and sisters, don’t waste your time on this Hollywood film looking to profit from this families story and adding their own agenda behind it. Jesus is lord

Giving this a 1 star to balance out the ratings. This movie is not a 4.4 by any means. I’m new to the faith so I’ve been looking for Christian movies to watch and I came across this one. From a movie standpoint it’s bad. Bad script, uninteresting characters, bad acting, loose story line. From a Christian standpoint it’s definitely blasphemous and unbiblical. Do not watch if you’re looking to increase your faith in Jesus or learn something new about the Bible. This movie falsely represent Christianity claiming “if you work hard enough you can truly get anything you desire”. They’re drinking a lot and spend time at night clubs. Vanessa is consistently seen wearing promiscuous clothing. Skip this movie , save 2 hours of your life
