Sadly the local dialect, realistically used ,works against the intelligibility of the film- what with a homogenised and sterile Hindi ironically being the staple for most.Great acting by all dominated by a Manoj, refreshing Ranvir Sheorey and a rather urban Rajput is suitably backed up with a pale and egg yolkish coloured cinematography reminding of the ravines always. The music is localised and topical while the dialogue, script and story is taut with a generous helping of frequent expletives. The director Abhisekh Chaubey stirs and impresses and this is a happy augury for Indian cinema. The evils of caste and patriarchy, abusive Thakurs and the trapped story of the Dalits is grippingly portrayed.
