Moral of the story is just be who you are regardless how useless you are to society. A movie about the philosophy of survival in dire situations that says it's better to live a hedonistic lifestyle that ultimately leads to the end of the human race because not being happy 24/7 is more important than legacy and the continuation of the species. The writers of this movie probably had no friends growing up and never did anything impressive in their life. Instead of doing something about it they just fantasize about how great it would be for people to be locked in a cage with them, forced to get along with them for only one year even if it meant the end of society. An Interesting concept delivered by the most uninteresting people and it shows.
