Read most of Mr.L'amour's books. Last of the Breed is one of the very best. Haunted Mesa is different but also strikes on practicality and disillusionment. But am giving it 4 stars as a little slow paced compared to the Last of the Breed. These books allowed me to get knowledge through stories,etc during my very sick times of eczema on hands and legs/feet when blood and pus was rampant on my palms especially.So entertaining and gripping stories took an upper hand to forget personal health issues. Spent few birthdays as a child like this. Parents were very supportive but many doctors made it worse till I realized it to be connected to my breath and finally exercise on and off helped and one last doctor a Sindhi gentleman forget his name listened well and commended me on understanding issue giving me a soothing non complex non steroidal cream which helped added to exercise. But Louis L'Amour took the cake, Jack Higgins, Reader's Digest, etc as language improvement, knowledge and soothers of health.

Great book , probably reading it for a third time
