I have seen her YouTube videos, and I kiiiiinnndaa liked them. Not my target audience. I do, however, give a chance to the media that I have at my fingertips. So, without further ado, after five watchings: This show misses the mark on any stage that I could imagine. Lilly fires shots at everything that isn’t her. I am pro-basically everything, and she alienates everything that isn’t her. I love shows that tackle hard subjects, but this is a clinic on how to hit those low hanging fruits. I get it, you’re a woman of color, a non-binary sexual entity, and definitely not white... but, there are many other funny things to attack. I’m not the one to say anything here probably, but being a white guy, I can say that I like comedy. I love comedy. I can find comedy in most situations, against me or not. However, this isn’t funny. Every segment is awkward, every interview is a wreck. (See Mindy Kaling). And, the show almost runs away from Lilly’s YouTube roots. She’s not Carson or Conan or Arsenio; she’s Lilly. Either play to that, or go away. I’m sure she will be fine as an influencer like she was before. Sorry, Lilly.... the show sucks. 1 Star for trying something new, another star for working hard at getting there. Negative 3 stars for just punching down (in a way). Aim at higher hanging fruit.
