It focuses too much on the terribly written family drama of a mentally abusive daughter and mother duo gaslighting and manipulating the weak stepfather. It doesn't focus enough on the craziness of a monster spider's existence. The most likable characters are the exterminator and the Asian neighbor. The main cast family is insufferable to watch and ruins the thrill of an apartment monster flick.
