I went into the cinema not knowing what to expect. I am a big believer if something is great why change it? I am a huge Disney fan and absolutely love everything about the original. I am over all disappointed in the outcome of this film, I was let down by the voice acting of most characters, especially scar. I feel as though his tone wasn’t as witty as the original and he needed that. Zazu was another let down for me but that may have been because I don’t think anyone could do a better job then Rowan Atkinson. Even mufsa wasn’t as convincing and he was played by the same man. I love Beyoncé but she didn’t really convince me either, Simba’s character was probably the most convincing. Being so used to how the original is I guess I just went in expecting characters to be the same which is an unrealistic expectation. On a positive note the graphics were amazing! Maybe a little to real but very cool to see, I also loved the music and the sneaky little ode to beauty and the beast. Overall I am disappointed but there were positives.
