It's insufferable that The Silence got a very bad review compared to A Quite Place and Birdbox.
This movie gave us context, and made meaning of the cause of the apocalyptic occurrence, this is something the other two movies didn't do. I love that they got rid of the dog (so rare seeing characters with common sense) but then again they had to jump from intelligence to idiocy by leaving through the gate and left it open when they could have gone through the sewage hole.
Just like every movie in this genre, it leaves a lot of holes for the mind to wonder, how did those creatures survive a thousand years in the cave without food, water, etc why did this family think moving was the best idea after they were instructed to stay put and quiet?
I for one is so sad the movie for 1hr 30mins, I think they should have made this a show, cuz everything felt rushed.
The casts were exceptional, I love how monotonous it felt with the soundtrack and colour grading.
The most satisfying thing in this movie was was the man turned on the wood shredder, I think that would be a great way to defeat the vesps if applied on a large scale.
The Hushed leader looked terrifying, to me he was scarier than the creature.
Overall I can watch this movie again but I can't watch The Quiet Place or Birdbox again, I felt like the crew and cast raised the middle finger on us the audience by not trying to give us context to the turn of events.
