[Spoiler alert] This is either one of the best films or one of the worst depends on what you make of the last 5 minutes ... Regardless, DeNiro and the camera are superb, but surely after Scorcese takes us to hell we can't be expected to accept that 'happy' ending. The film should have ended with Travis trying to blow his brains out (and even messing that up). That it didn't costs it the fifth star.
