Karen Glaser

I absolutely love this book! The first chapter had me laughing so hard, I cried. The last chapter was so moving and poignant, I cried. Everything in between was a well-told, heartfelt story by Christopher Paul Curtis. I cannot recommend it highly enough. We read this book in my history/literature class to go along with lessons on slavery, the Underground Railroad, and notable figures such as Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, and John Brown.
