The only reason Joker: Folke à Deux even gets a 1 star is because Joaquin Phoenix is such a good actor. They did him so dirty with this movie. The first Joker was one of the best movies I’ve ever seen and they had SO much potential to make this one atleast a little bit good. Of course we expected there to be some singing in it because it made sense for Joker’s character and Lady Gaga is in it. But a 2 min song every 10 min was just a waste of production at this point. They absolutely did not need 2 1/2 hours of switching back and forth between the jail and the court room. Where was the character development? The first Joker built up the villain story so hard and they had the potential to build an outstanding sequel. And they ruined it. It was as if they brainstormed an idea for Joker 2 and then lost track of the plot half way through the movie so they said let’s just start singing. Literally WTF did i just watch. What was the point of blowing up the court room if it didn’t even lead to anything. And whyyyyy TF did they kill him in the end. This could’ve been an amazing villain SEQUEL and they just blew it. Overall not a good movie, wasted potential, embarrassing for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, pointless details throughout, 0 plotline and character development. Extremely disappointed is an understatement.
