Really enjoyed this thought provoking book about the prejudice these characters face as they try to live in America. Many parallels to today and the way Blacks and Jewish people are never able to feel “equal”. The characters are so well developed that you feel an intimate connection to them. The acknowledgements in the final pages let the reader know what was the inspiration for this book. A very deserving National Book Award Winner!
