Being a lifelong fan I’ve grown and evolved with band. The emotional journey this album takes you on is just about as powerful as “Ten” and as collaborative as “Yield”. I’m still soaking the album in but I can honestly say that there is not a track I would want to skip on this album. The lyrics are simple but I would suggest if you didn’t attend the theater event..that you sit down and soak the lyrics…they are powerful.
The only track that kind of misses the mark is “Scared of Fear”. “Wreckage” is not only one of the strongest tracks, but one their best ever. “Waiting For Stevie” is everything as advertised.
“Dark Matter” and “Running” mix in nicely and listening to these in unison with the album creates a new love for these songs.
“Something Special” which was deemed as the weak track actually stands out and it’s not as cheesy as some make it to be. Anyone with kids, especially daughters will relate.
“Setting Sun” reminds me of a track you would find on U2’s Joshua Tree.
Andrew Watt needs to be praised. He brought new life to this band
