Eye candy, for sure - and it checks all of the diversity boxes required for today's modern audience. But in substance, it has gutted a Sci-fi masterwork, filled it with formulaic treacle, and slapped the "Foundation" title on the cover for marketing purposes. I would give it a higher rating if it glommed on to the StarWars canon as some sort of space opera Silmarillion origins story. Asimov would be baffled.

It's difficult to write about this without superlatives. It is an immersive experience. So well crafted you can smell it, taste it on the back of your throat. I was a barking mad fan of Tom Hardy going in. Now I'm just howling at the moon.
