Just read this beauteous work in a beautiful afternoon in Colorado. What a work. It examines humanity itself in a near Camus like manner that evokes themes and importance far beyond one simple murder and its circumstances. Gender, patriarchy, class, race, date, absurdity and so much more is covered and Marquez’s prose is absorbing and edible. Strongly recommend
