I had no problem with the pace of the plot, and it just seems like a story of two people. That's fine. What isn't fine is the indoctrination for pedophilia. It is mentioned multiple times that Alana is 25 while Gary is only 15, and that's why they wouldn't date initially. Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that she continually leads him on and even shows him her breasts solely because he wants to see them. No mentally healthy, functional adult would pursue a child like that. This movie uses the theme of 70's nostalgia to cover up the fact that it pushes to normalize pedophilia.
