The Dissenter is much more than a pirate story. It is about sacrifice, danger, wonder, suspense, fantasy, and science fiction. It can be described as Star Trek meets Pirates of the Caribbean meets Lord of the Rings all rolled into one book! It is a collection of short stories that shadow the adventures of a group of unlikely heroes, each oppressed by an evil empire, that restore justice while raiding enemy ships. A pirate crew soon becomes a family on the high seas, a Robin Hood type tale with influences in American short stories and other literary works, the protagonist must be a champion for the weak, the poor, the oppressed, all the while a disease is killing him slowly, with each passing year. The Dissenter is a tale that will keep the reader turning the pages, I strongly recommend it!
