SPOILERs Ive seen this twice now in the last couple of years. It's a time capsule, sending you back to the era. Ned is clearly struggling to come to terms with the disaster that is his life he seems to have blocked it out (or the last 2 years of it) he had it all, in some peoples eyes, the big house great job, wife and kids the money mistresses, life and soul of the party friends and good looks, somewhere along the way he has messed it all up and this becomes apparent to the viewer as he swims across the suburban pools and meets people from his past we learn about his failing, infidelity and fall from grace, he eventually ends up at his dilapidated empty house and the realisation sets in. A masterpiece in my eyes. Really thought-provoking and well acted.
