Ikigai is an easy read. It talks about how to step back from a fast-paced routine and think about life holistically. I felt the author described more on the importance of Ikigai (purpose of life), but less on explaining the concept of Ikigai I.e. how to find it or achieve it. The focus was more on longevity and things necessary to achieve that, with a focus on food & nutrition. It talks about Japanese culture and how important Ikigai is for them. However, the book does not offer any new insights on Ikigai (purpose of life) that one may already have read or known earlier. In the last chapter the author talks about 10 key aspects to lead a purposeful life but alas, they were only limited to the last chapter. I wish the author would have talked in depth about each of those aspects throughout the book!
