Another pretty sad year of mediocre cooking. Once again the judges were stilted, robotic and booring with little passion. Both the Canadian and American shows need to watch and learn from MasterChef Australia whose contestants are putting up better dishes to earn an apron than than our finalists. In addition the judges are vocal, supremely encouraging, while demanding only the highest standards. Their retinue of guest judges, who also provide challenges include Heston Blumenthal, Marco Pierre White and Curtis Stone. These guests along with the judges also provide masterclasses, teaching the contestants new & unique dishes and techniques. In addition many of the contestants have gone on to run & own some of the best restaurants in Australia. So superior it is hard to put into words.
