Manoj Kumar Sahab was at his peak. He would go onto later deliver two more hits - Sanyasi and Kranti, before irreversible decline.
I watched this movie in the late 80s at a private screening organized by my society.
RKM dealt with social issues of that time - Inflation, Scarcity and unemployment.
All actors played their part to the best of their abilities- with no one acting over the top . A movie thoughtfully made with excellent dialogues and outstanding music. It was refreshing to see Amitabh Bachchan and Raza Murad come again together after Namak Haram.
Zeenat Aman (a repentant gold digger), Premnath(A hardworking virtuous Sikh), Moushumi Chatterjee (A wronged yet a gritty and a hopeful lady), Shashi Kapoor(Honesty), Amitabh Bachchan (The reformed and the show stopper of course), Madan Puri(Hoarder), Aruna Irani (A victim of circumstances), Kamini Kaushal ji, Krishna Dhawan sahab, Agha sahab, Lalita Kumari etc. make up a memorable cast.
