The pacing was so slow I could barely stay awake.

This film version of the Broadway musical is very typical in its style for the period it was made. For me, it's all about the story and the delicate yet profound relationships. The pace may be too slow for many viewers.

I thought this was an interesting look in to the life of Walter Mercado, but so much more seems to be hidden below the surface of this fascinating man. Maybe in future years more will be revealed.
